Yesterday, (Monday 6th Feb 2012), the great and the good of the Hi-Fi and Home Cinema industry gathered for the annual AGM of BADA (the British Audio Visual Dealers Association) and to witness the birth of a new trade association, the Clarity Alliance.
Although initially setup as a trade body for the retailers, contribution to BADA from manufacturers, distributors, press and other professional service organisations has grown in significance lately and this change has caused the BADA board to open discussions with the possibility of reshaping itself.
Changes in technology, customer shopping habits and the realignment of contributions from other members were all factors in the decision and the resulting 6 month research and planning project has resulted in the proposal of an entirely new trade body.
The Clarity Alliance
While a number of details are now available concerning the proposed make up of the new organisation (see the web link below) perhaps the most definitive announcement at the meeting was the launch of the organisations name - "Clarity". All references to the projects former code name, "Project Grass" have ceased and Clarity becomes the full moniker.
Presto are proud to have been involved with the projects steering group and wish it every success as it moves from concept to reality.
