
While the Domain Name System (DNS) is a headache for owners of websites and email accounts, it does have a rather useful spin-off that can really help smart home installers gain remote access to client networks. Not only is it relatively easy to setup and cheap to implement (or free sometimes) it's also supported by just about every network router ever made.
